South Ayrshire girls kicked off the start of their league campaign with a very convincing 8-3 win against TASS, last year’s league winners.
The South Ayrshire girls mostly playing a year above themselves faced up to a much taller team and could’ve been intimidated by the bigger girls but this definitely wasn’t the case.
With the two Rachel’s at the heart of the midfield Ayrshire created the opening chance slipping a neat ball through to Danielle who coolly slotted home.
Tass tried to get back into the game straight away but were denied by some fantastic goalkeeping from Shannon in goals and another new combination of Hannah & Morgan were looking very solid.
Ayrshire’s 2nd was a cracker Nicola picking the ball up deep in her own half raced up the line passing a series of players before passing to Danielle who rifled into the net.
Tass pulled a goal back with our back four beaten for pace, their big striker slotting past Shannon.
Danielle got her hat trick before half time this time Caitlin McD the provider before holding off the defender and slamming the ball home.
South Ayrshire made changes at half time bringing on Charlieann in goal and two new girls Chelsea & Regan for their debuts, the changes had an immediate effect Chazzas kick out was met by the head of Amy who’s flick set up Becky who stepped the ball past the Tass keeper.
Tass tried to get back in the game but were foiled every time they tried to get down the wings Courtney shrugging off everything down the left and Nicola who was outstanding all game down the right.
Danielle scored another two goals to put South Ayrshire on easy street, but credit to Tass who always looked dangerous pulled a couple of goals back.
Rachel Scott got the goal she desperately wanted after an industrious afternoon at the heart of everything with a thunderous drive and Becky finished the game off firing from close range after Naomi and Ellie carved open the Tass defence.
Next week South Ayrshire Girls 15s are away to Clark Drive.
Player of the match after a marvellous display was Danielle.
