Maybole Juniors produced a stunning second half performance in North Ayrshire to beat Largs 5-0 on Saturday and with it secured their first league win of the season.
It was the home side who started the brighter with the Largs strikers causing the Maybole defence problems with their movement.
Scott Johnstone was smart enough in the Maybole goal though to save bravely at the feet of the Largs striker.
Maybole got their first chance in the 18th minute when Davie Cunningham was played through by Mark Doolan but he shot wide of the target. After more Largs pressure, Robert Forde shot wide from 25 yards after a nice pass from Robert Patterson.
As half time drew closer, James Marks had the ball in the net for Largs on 41 minutes but his effort was ruled out for offside.
The second half was a completely different affair as Maybole showed their intentions right from kick off.
On 47 minutes Cunningham flicked the ball into the path of Andy Stevenson but his shot was just wide.
That opening goal came though on 49 minutes for Maybole as a great pass from Forder sent Stevenson running down the left wing and he crossed in for Marc Dyer who tucked away at the back post.
Five minutes later Maybole were 2-0 up as Stuart McGrady got in behind the Largs defence to set up Andy Stevenson for his firt goal in what would be a superb six minute hat-trick.
On 59 minutes McGrady played the ball into the path of Cunningham who gave it first time to Stevenson who drilled the ball past the Largs keeper. And on 61 minutes the game was over when Stevenson completed his treble after being set up by Dyer.
The fifth goal came on 71 minutes with Cunningham finishing well with his left foot.
Maybole are at home to Kilsyth on Saturday on league business with a 2pm kick off.
