The Ayr Burners Summer Series continues on Thursday night with Round 7 - The Tour of the Smugglers Trail. The Smugglers Trail runs between Troon and Dundonald with its beautiful wooded tracks and natural trails proving popular with locals and visitors alike. Departing Troon Railway Station at 7pm, the riders will weave their way through Dundonald Woods via Collennan and the Reservoir before arriving at Dundonald Castle which marks the halfway point of the ride. Some demanding terrain will greet the group on the return leg including some steep climbs, with 3 timed sectors adding to the evenings challenge. Any off-road bike will be suitable, including Mountain bikes, cross, or Hybrid bikes.

Sunday August 16th sees another popular Cyclo-Cross skills session take place, with this months edition being hosted in Fullarton Woods, Troon. A mixture of terrains with some easy obstacles to negotiate help riders to gain confidence and improve their bike handling techniques, with fun being the most important aspect of the mornings ride. This session is youth friendly, with prospective members welcome too. Full details can be found at ayrburners.org
