Carrick glad to be back after lay-off

Carrick Youth Development 5

GHA 19

Wearing their brand new strips, Carrick Youth Development team hosted GHA on Sunday after a lay- off of more than three months due to the bad weather.

It was expected that, after such a long break, Carrick would be rusty. However, after some superb determination and sturdy defence at half-time the score was still 0-0.

Jason Kenny came off his wing well to have some powerful runs which caused the first division team some telling problems.

However, after the break, GHA scored a succession of quick tries that took them to a commanding 19-0 lead.

But with some intelligent kicking from stand-off Connor Wyllie and pacy running from Russell McCulloch, Carrick rallied towards the end of the game to have the last say with a bulldozer try from No 8 Jonathan Webster to finish the game at 19-5.
