Two good wins for Girvan

Girvan kept there remarkable unbeaten run going this week with two fantastic wins.

First up was Craigie Colts a team Girvan haven’t beaten in four years of trying, Girvan now fielding four ex- Craigie players who were right up for this game.

Girvan got off to the perfect start when Jamie Dorans opened the scoring; Connor Gracie added another soon after, then Dorans scored again to put Girvan on easy street.

Kyle McCulloch headed Girvan further ahead then Brandon Rice headed another and before half time Rice made a beautiful turn before smashing the ball home and go in at half time 6-0 up.

Girvan made five changes at half time bringing all the subs on.

Craigie pulled a goal back then Daniel Storrie scored again for Girvan,

Craigie pulled another goal back but Girvan were just too strong and Ross Kelly wrapped the game up before the end kissing the Girvan badge as celebrations started.

The game ended Girvan Youth 8 Craigie Colts 2 and man of the match was Brandon Rice.

Saturday Girvan Youth travelled up to Galston with four players missing for various reasons.

So another reshuffle of the squad and starting line up and off we went.

The first 20 minutes was a very evenly contested match with both teams creating chances.

Girvan opened the scoring Connor Gracie latching on to a Hamilton pass and rifling home.

Gracie put Girvan two up this time McAvoy played the ball through and Gracie showed great composure in front of goals and put it away.

Mathew Taylor was next on the scoresheet with a wonderful strike.

Again at half time all the Girvan subs came on and went on to dominate the game Gracie wrapped the game up with another goal and earn him man of the match with a wonderful hat trick.

Tuesday night sees Girvan travel up to Stewarton for a very late 8pm kickoff in the semi-final of the Supplementary cup.
