Vale win table top clash

Westkirk 1 Vale of Girvan 5

Vale of Girvan travelled up to Cumnock last Saturday to take part in a top of the table clash.

Although both teams were undefeated before the kick off it was the Vale that triumphed with an emphatic victory.

Two goals each for young Matt Wilson and Callum Thomson along with a lone strike from Kevin Wallace earned the Vale a great three points.

The pick of the goals was a thirty yard strike from Wilson that saw the vale take an early lead.

It is still early in the season but the Vale are already looking as though they are going to be a formidable outfit this season.

A delighted Jock Stewart told the Carrick Gazette: “It was impossible to pick a man of the match today as the whole team were outstanding.

“Hopefully we can keep playing in the same style every week and we will not be far away come the end of the season.”
