This week sees the launch of Zoë Bestel’s début album Sir Lucas And The Moon to rave reviews from fans and industry professionals alike.

A national newspaper has made it ‘Album of the Week’ saying: “Zoe Bestel is most definitely on the rise.

“Having been compared to KT Tunstall, the 16-year-old, who is based in the Borders, has already supported the likes of the Peatbog Faeries and is definitely one to watch.”

Winner of Dumfries & Galloway Life Magazine’s Performer of the Year Award, Zoë (aged16) is preparing for a busy summer with invitations to music festivals up and down the country including folk festivals in the Highlands and islands and her very first ukulele festival down in England.

Zoë said: “I’m so excited and humbled by the positive response to my first album. I left school last year to focus full time on my music and it’s been incredibly hard work.

“So I’m very grateful for all the local support; I feel like the whole community is behind me and I can’t thank them enough.”

Zoë’s new album is available in shops across the region including Talk Of The Town in Newton Stewart.

You can catch Zoë playing locally at the House O Hill Beer & Music Festival near Glentrool this month and at the Newton Stewart Traditional and Acoustic Festival in July.
