Ayr Market’s Christmas Show and Sale will have an added festive spirit to it this year, as NFU Scotland teams up with a whole host of organisations.

Not only will the Union be on hand to speak to members and chat about the work that is ongoing on your behalf, but Christmas cards and books will be available from RSABI, lovely hot pancakes will be served up by Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club and Positive Pulse Scotland will be providing health check-ups.

Not only that, but the Scottish Government will be available to discuss Scot Moves – the new system which will replace linked holdings - and local staff from the Scottish Rural Payments and Inspection Office will also be in attendance.

The Christmas Show and Sale will be taking place at Ayr Market on Tuesday 6 December between 10am and 1.30pm to get you in the Christmas spirit, and answer your burning questions.

Jimmy Ireland, Ayrshire’s Regional Chairman commented: “The Christmas Show and Sale is a special day at the market and a lovely atmosphere with all the Christmas trees for sale.

“2016 has been a difficult year for many farmers with worries over finances and big changes politically, so this is an opportunity to have a chat with and support RSABI. Registered nurse Monica Coyle will be on hand offering free blood pressure checks and health advice.

“Scot Moves will also be able to explain the new digital cattle movement service coming into force on 1 January.

“Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a sweet treat and some lovely pancakes are being flipped for people to eat whilst they chat. Our thanks are extended to Craig Wilson Ltd. for hosting.”
