Forty local ladies enjoyed a long lunch in the Carrick Centre, Maybole recently.
The afternoon began with a wine tasting provided by Carrick Wines who operate out of Jane’s Deli in the High Street.
This included a short talk on wine production and an indication that as the company sourced their wine from a variety of vintners they could find any wine that a customer should request. As Allan Martin said “Just tell Jane what you would like and we will get it for you”. Andrea Hutchison of the Centre then took the floor to demonstrate two very tasty and easily prepared dishes with great good humour and aplomb.
She answered questions from the ladies as she went and Blue Peter-like, produced finished versions. Her two dishes then became options for the two course lunch which followed. The meal had been prepared by the Centre’s own chef Robert Barr and was served by Centre volunteers.
A comprehensive vote of thanks brought a thoroughly enjoyable event to a happy conclusion.
