April is national Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and here in Ayrshire and Arran we are encouraging people to talk about bowel cancer with our annual Bowel Screening Awareness event.
This year’s event takes place on Wednesday 27 April 2016 in the Alexander Fleming Education Centre, University Hospital Crosshouse (registration from 12 noon, programme starting at 1pm). The event is open to everyone.
Now in its eighth year, this popular event helps to raise awareness of the importance of prevention, screening and early detection of bowel cancer. This year’s event will also introduce a new and easier bowel cancer screening test which is being developed for launch in 2017.
The event is led by Mr Bob Diament, Colorectal Surgeon and Director of Ayrshire and Arran’s bowel screening programme.
