A romantic Bollywood themed curry night out is being thrown with diners encouraged to dress up a in the style of the stars of lively Indian movies.
Organisers Maybole Save the Children are even giving out a web address- for diners who want to buy authentic costumes and come in fancy dress.
Chair Becky Fleming said: ”Traditional Asian costumes can be found on the website www.rupalionline.com and many items are very reasonable and colourful. I bought a tunic dress that I’m pleased with.”
She added: ”Last year’s event was a sell-out success so we added a new twist this year with a Bollywood theme and have cut the price of tickets to encourage whole families to come.
“There is a gourmet banquet on offer, with authentic dishes and you can eat as much as you like. ”
The date for the Bollywood Curry Night is Wednesday, October 30, from 7pm. Indian music is planned with clips from Bollywood movies- the term popularly used for the Hindi -language film industry based in India, and one of the largest film industries in the world.
Tickets are just £15 for a full curry evening, with children under 12 just £10. The venue is Ayr Spice restaurant, off the A77 at Minishant and the proceeds will go to the charity Save the Children, which helps thousands of children in Scotland as well as abroad.
