Bookbug is planning an exciting day out with lots of young reading fans when he takes part in a Pram Push and Baby Bounce from 10.30am to noon on Tuesday May 21. The adventure will start at South Ayrshire Council’s Carnegie Library in Ayr and finish at the Citadel in Ayr.
Bookbug sessions are free, fun and friendly events for babies toddlers, pre-schoolers and their families to enjoy. Each session last around 30 minutes and includes songs, stories and rhymes. Participants can just turn up and enjoy the regular sessions at Council libraries. The session takes place in a very relaxed environment and is a great way to enjoy quality time with a child.
Councillor Bill Grant said: “Bookbug is a great friend to young people, babies and toddlers love him and you can see their excitement when he enters a room. The free Bookbug sessions are a great way for parents, family members or carers to spend quality time with their children. Children get the opportunity to interact with other youngsters which will improve their communication skills, give their speech and language development a boost as well as building their confidence and social skills.”
