Carrick businesses are backing an exciting new photography competition.
The competition is being run by the Carrick Tourism Development project with support from the Carrick Community Councils Forum.
The Carrick, Ayrshire photography competition will give budding David Bailey’s the chance to showcase their best work.
And thanks to kind-hearted businesses the winners will enjoy some top prizes.
These include a gourmet dinner for two at the five-star Glenapp Castle Hotel, a free whisky tasting session at A.D Rattray’s whisky experience in Kirkoswald and a voucher for £35 for the Harbourhead restaurant in Girvan.
The competition will run through the next two months with the submission deadline at midnight on 30 September.
Then in October the finalists’ images and stories will be loaded onto an album on the Carrick, Ayrshire Facebook page, where you can ‘like’ your favourites. The 3 images with the most likes by 12.00 noon on 15 October will win one of the three prizes on offer.
Chair of the CTDP Councillor Alec Oattes said “This competition is not only a great way to show how beautiful Carrick is, but will also find out why the area is so special to tourists as well as to local people.”
Carrick residents and visitors to the area can submit any style of photo whether it be landscape images or quirky holiday snaps.
To enter e-mail email@example.com, attaching your image along with your name, age, address and any social media addresses if you have them plus a short story saying why you took the image.
