North and South Carrick residents now have access to a dedicated money advice service for families with young children and young people to age 24 years.
Families and young people living in and around the Maybole area will find the service located in the Community Learning Development offices in the Carnegie Building above the library. A journey to Girvan or Ayr for assistance will no longer be necessary.
With funding from Comic Relief and William Grant Foundation Youth Opportunities Fund administered by Foundation Scotland, the head office in Girvan has expanded from a single adviser to a team of two advisers and and an administration assistant to meet the growing demand for the service. The Carrick Money Advice service is run by Stepping Stones for Families, a charity well known for providing services for families and young people. There will be a launch event in Girvan Town House on March 18 from 11am to 2pm.
