Samantha Reilly, a CHAS Fundraiser, spoke to the Inner Wheel club about the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland and was presented with a cheque for £575.
This bringsthe club’s total over the years to nearly £10,000.
It is a charity which provides the only hospice service in Scotland for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
This is through their children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House at Loch Lomond, as well as their home care service called “CHAS at Home.”
In Ayrshire there are sixteen families already benefitting from the support of CHAS at Home.
The focus is on providing good times, not sad, in a bright colourful environment, with a chance to “make memories” of happy experiences.
Judging from the comments of parents and siblings CHAS more than meets that promise and they cannot speak highly enough of the support given.
Anyone can be referred for respite care and support is free. This means that donations from fundraising are very much appreciated.
Inner Wheel Girvan would like to thank all who attended our fundraising lunch and also Girvan Rotary, The Royal Hotel, Girvan and Girvan Co-op for their help and contributions.
At the lunch there was a stall selling Ayrshire Hospice Christmas cards and this took in over £500.
