It’s all about the boys at Park Fest

Park Fest was started with the purpose of helping our Stranraer RNLI crew raise funds, but we are always keen to help musicians from near and far get on our stage to showcase their talent to our wonderful audiences. With this in mind we are delighted that along with The Late Twos from Belfast, we are also hosting the talents of Black Art Babas, Broken Boy and Novante.

Black Art Babas are a Glasgow based band with a range of rock blues and jazz. They have subtly isolated a smoky corner of the Glasgow music scene. In previous years, their music has brought them to audiences across Scotland and the UK.

Having both played in their own projects in the past, brothers Cam and Stewart Black decided they wanted to bring things back to their roots both in terms of a family connection, and also by trying not to obsess too much about how they wanted to sound. The result is a newly formed 4 piece Broken Boy with their most recent releases being compared with the likes of White Lies and The Vaccines.

Chopperhead formed in June 2015, they play a wide range mixture of rock music which often has a hard edge covering The Beatles, the Kinks, Cream, the Who, Steve Earle, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and many more. Park Fest takes place at Agnew Park, Stranraer on 19th August and 20th August.
