The Ballantrae Development Group will be holding its last Farmers’ Market of the year on Sunday 4 October from 11am to 3pm.
Held in the grounds of Craigiemains Home and Garden Centre, Main Street, Ballantrae, the following suppliers/producers have confirmed they will attend : Pies and quiches will be available from “Grannie Jean’s”; Local fruit & veg, cheeses, eggs, and Ayrshire honey (Rhone Cottage); Nethergate Rare Breed meat products (Thompson McKenzie); Pies and Sausages (Dalduff Farm); Jams and Chutneys (The Hidden Garden); Fresh and Smoked Fish (PIeroni); Chilli Jam (Galloway Chillies) with home baking from the ever popular Ballantrae Baking Stall. Drinks will be available from Roundsquare Roastery; local beers from Ayr Brewing Company; and class cocktails from Kirkton Liquers. Even your dog will be catered for by Pet Care’s “Doggie Deli”.
Susan Crosthwaite of the Ballantrae Development Group (a sub Group of Ballantrae Community Council) which organises the Farmers’ Market in partnership with Craigiemains said: “For the last Farmers’ Market of the year we have brought together a range of suppliers and producers to give you an opportunity to taste and purchase great local food and drink. We hope to see you there!”
In addition to the goods on sale at the market, at Craigiemains, visitors will also find a coffee shop, gifts, books, garden supplies, the miniature train and the Visitor Information Point containing ideas for visits to places of interest and activities within easy reach of Ballantrae.
