Society to hear of tales and trails in Girvan valley

Girvan’s local history society will hear guest speaker Mary Hogg’s presentation “Tales and Trails in the Girvan Valley” this month.

Mary was born and brought up in the Scottish Borders and moved to Ayrshire with her husband in 1970.

After taking a teaching post in Carrick Academy, Mary developed a consuming interest in local history which added a new dimension to her appreciation of South Ayrshire.

Having lived in Crosshill for 44 years, and with her wide range of interests, Mary knows the Girvan Valley very well, and she will be sharing her explorations and photographs with the society.

Girvan & District History Society will host its monthly meeting on Thursday, November 27 in the McKechnie Institute, Dalrymple Street, at 7.30p.m.

Entrance:Members £1,non-Members £2, this includes a cup of tea and a biscuit !. All interested parties most welcome.
