A Ceilidh is to be held in Dailly Community Centre on Saturday 8th February at 7.30pm by Girvan and District Arthritis Research UK.
Musical entertainment by The Brae Ceilidh Band with guest singer.

Girvan Community Garden have a host of events coming up.
On Wednesday 12 February from 1.30pm you can learn to graft fruit trees with guest Peter MacDonald. Spaces are available.
From 1pm-4pm on Saturday 15th February you can take part in a volunteer open day and seed swap to start your growing season. Refreshments available on the day.
On Sunday 2 March from 1-4pm there is a liqueur workshop and tasting using seasonal fruits. £15.00 per person and spaces are available.
And finally on Saturday 29 March from 2pm onwards there will be a tomato workshop which will show you where and how to care for your plants over the growing season.

Please join us on Monday,10th February, at 2p.m in the Community Centre to hear Karen Savage talk about the work of CHAS ( Childrens Hospice Association Scotland).
They offer much needed respite care and palliative care for families with children suffering life threatening illness. They need our support too.
Girvan Scout Group is holding its usual fundraising Prize Bingo on Friday 7th February, at 7.30pm, in the Scout Hall at 9 Glendoune Street (near Ainslie Books). Entry is free with game books going for 50p each. Teas, coffees and snacks and a raffle will be available as well as our Tuck Shop service. Why not join us for the evening? It will be worth it just to hear the banter!
It’s all about love at Girvan Methodist Church on Wesley Road. Go along and join them in their Valentine’s celebration of the good things in life. Enjoy coffee, sweet treats and chat in good company with romantic music to soothe your soul. Wednesday, February 12 from 1.30-4pm.
Alzheimer Scotland Action on Dementia South Ayrshire Service is holding a singing group for people with dementia and their carers.
Girvan Melody Memories is on one Thursday per month from 2.30-4pm at Age Concern, Duff Street, Girvan. There is a small charge of £1.50 per person to cover the cost of refreshments and hall hire. The first meeting is on Thursday, February 13 with meetings also on Thursday, March 13 and April 15 with other dates to follow.
Singing can be stimulating, uplifting, invigorating, motivating and may help to stimulate memories and release emotion.
You don’t need to be a brilliant singer, just enjoy singing. So if you or the person you care for like singing why not both join us? These groups are for people who are able to attend on their own safely or who can bring their own support with them.

Girvan Carers group for carers of people with dementia is held its first meeting last week. The group will host a monthly meeting for carers of people with dementia. They can chat and share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee and will receive practical and emotional support. There are also occasional invited speakers on topics of interest.
The meetings will be on the last Thursday of each month - Thursday, February 27, March 27 and April 24 with other dates to follow from 2-4pm in Age Concern, Duff Street, Girvan. If interested or to find out how to join the group call Jenni McKeand, link worker on 01292 318005.
Girvan South Parish Church is to hold a silent auction on Saturday, February 8 from 2-4pm. Admission at the door is £1.
