Pinwherry car boot sale is on Sunday 29th May from 10am to 3pm on the 2 Pins Site Pinwherry.

Saturday June 18th will see a Craft Fair, and Antique Farm Tractors and equipment, Vintage Cars, local historical items, children’s bouncy castle. And in the evening a family Bar-B-Q by ticket only.



Colmonell WRI held their last meeting of the season at Craigiemains Garden Centre on Wednesday, May 11. president Mrs Nancy Agnew welcomed everyone to the annual general meeting and prizegiving.

members were treated to a delicious tea of sandwiches and cakes provided by Craigiemains Tearoom. This was followed by the prizegiving.

Nancy invited Ann Robertson to present the prizes:

Nancy thanked the ladies for the lovely tea. Everyone then enjoyed a walk round the garden centre. The Colmonell WRI annual trip to the Kelpies and Falkirk is on Saturday, May 28. The bus will leave the village hall at 8.30am.


Concert with Dave Brackenridge and live band Saturday 18th June at 7.30pm in St Colmon Church in Colmonell. Tickets £4 from Girvan Sweetie Shop, at the door on the night or see local posters.


Dailly Scout Group will be holding their summer whist drives on the following Fridays: June 17th, July 15th & August 19th.

Come along & join in - 1.50 for light supper, and a fun, social evening, of whist & chat & raffle .

Don’t know how to play? want a refresher? - come along on Friday 10th of June for a warm up night.

Community Garden

We are inviting the older person or those who have retired to join us in a therapeutic Gardening Club over 5 weeks in Girvan Community Garden. You don’t need to have any gardening skills or experience just come along and take part. We would be delighted to see you there. It will start on 26th of May (Thurs) from 10am-12noon. The OIR weekly classes in Maybole are continuing well.

With the news that group was awarded some funds from the recent Community Participatory Budget for the Gardening Group, the committee need those who expressed an interest in this group to come forward once again.

There is a General Meeting to be held for all members to attend on Wednesday, June 1 at 2.00pm in the Speakers, Whitehall, Maybole

There will be an update on how the OIR has been progressing, discussion on what is to come as well as future events, and any suggestions from members would be welcome.
