Local businesses are to attend Scotland’s biggest tourism trade show later this month.

VisitArran, The Auchrannie Resort, Gailes Golf Experience and Accommodation Ayrshire will all be on the Ayrshire & Arran stand promoting the destination at VisitScotland expo which will take place at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh, on April 25 and 26. The businesses are being supported by the three Ayrshire Councils.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Ayrshire & Arran have presented a united front at the show, and the collaborative presence will strengthen Ayrshire and Arran’s position as an attractive destination, following the launch of the Ayrshire & Arran Tourism Strategy 2012-2017.

Dumfries House at Cumnock is also a new exhibitor from the region at the tourism expo this year.

Tour operators are expected from all over the world including the USA, Canada and Europe, as well as emerging markets such as India and Russia, who are looking to add Scotland to their tour itineraries.

More than 1000 people are expected to descend on the Royal Highland Centre with the Ayrshire businesses joining 230 other Scottish tourism businesses who will be taking the annual opportunity to showcase their product.

Annique Armstrong, Regional Director of VisitScotland, said; “VisitScotland expo offers the opportunity to showcase the excellent visitor experience to be found in Ayrshire & Arran to travel industry representatives from across the globe, with the expectation of generating significant business and economic benefit to the area.”

The average potential value of business as a result of attending Expo as an exhibitor is £28,000, with some businesses quoting values as high as £100,000.
