Maybole and District Young Arts are having a great season of activities.
A spokesman for the group told us: “We started with a trip to the Glasgow Museums Store in May, where we saw a tiny proportion of the one million artworks and objects, including paintings the size of a house, and ancient weapons.
“In July, the Glasgow Vikings came to Crossraguel, where children saw a Viking battle and then a burial, and learned to create Viking runes and blow a battle horn.
“This was followed on July 23 by a session of making shadow puppet theatres, then on July 27 a Found Sound Lab was held, where children created their own musical and rhythmic tracks.
“We are holding a Weaving Workshop at the Carrick Centre, Maybole, the date having been changed to Monday 10th August between 2.30-4.30pm. Elizabeth Riome will be leading, and participants will explore colour and patterns in making their own woven creation.
“Anyone aged 6 to 18 is welcome, free to members and £3 to anybody wanting to attend as a taster.”
