An exciting young arts festival is once again returning to Maybole Town Hall this Sunday.

The Maybole and District Young Arts ran festival has been hugely successful for the last three years with last years event attracting over 30 budding youngsters.

This years event will take place at the town hall between 11am and 4pm on September 27 and is a free public event for youngsters aged 6-18 and their families.

This year will see an Indian theme become central to the event’s plans and the main workshops will be led by an Indian dance company, Ihayami.

In addition there will also be plenty to do in the main hall with a range of activities including henna tattoos, Indian style jewellery, Dreamcatchers, Jumping Clay, storytelling, and a competition to decorate card elephants, with fantastic prizes including cinema vouchers.

Live music will also be on during the day ranging from a classical quartet, ‘Quattro’, to Hazel McDowall, music student, to a young rock band, Rubicon.

There will also be a fantastic pop-up cafe offering refreshments which is decribed by the group as ‘probably the best pop-up cafe in Ayrshire’.

All children and families are very welcome to attend the event.
