All quiet at hospital thanks to community council

Girvan Community Hospital has received a generous donation from Girvan Community Council.

A silkscreen panel, created by local artisan Winifred Wright, was donated to the hospital’s Quiet Room. The panel’s frame was also kindly donated by local joiners J&J Lindsay.

Members of Girvan Community Council and hospital staff attended a small dedication ceremony at the hospital and Winifred received a bunch of flowers as a thank you.

Jean Hendry, Healthcare Manager Communities and Partnerships commented: “I would like to thank the community council for their generous donation and to Winifred for such beautiful work. This silkscreen will make our Quiet Room more welcoming for the people who need a peaceful place to relax.”

Quiet Rooms are also available in University Hospitals Ayr and Crosshouse, Ailsa Hospital and Biggart Hospital. They are places of peace open to everyone and can be used for marriages, baptisms, blessings and funerals.
