Artist up close and personal

Local artist Sarah Green explores her environment through painting, mixed media and poetry.

This April sees the opening of a month long exhibition at the GreenHeart gallery in Ayr, entitled “South Ayrshire: Up Close and Personal”, that celebrates some of the familiar and less known corners of South Ayrshire. Ayr based artist Sarah Green has been painting local castles and views alongside kirks and jellyfish.

Sarah said: “South Ayrshire is a beautiful part of the world, encompassing the stunning views out towards the Isle of Arran and the awe inspiring castles such as Dunure and Greenan. One of my favourite spots is Maybole beach with its views towards Culzean, Ailsa Craig and Arran.”

The exhibition opens at GreenHeart gallery, Bath Place, Ayr with a preview on 5th April and will run for the month, culminating with Ayrshire Open Studios weekend on 27th and 28th April alongside two other artists.
