Following a very successful Easter, Barr Teas will open again on Sunday 31st May 1-4pm, run by volunteers, with all proceeds to charity,
Enjoy afternoon tea with delicious traditional home baking and jams in the beautiful wee conservation village of Barr. Situated in the heart of the Carrick hills, there are many trails within easy access of the village (although with some disruption due to local FCS Larch clearance).
In sunny weather, stand on the community human sundial mosaic, opposite the Hall, to tell the time and delight in local children and resident’s artwork created for the Carrick Heritage Trail. The Barr Wee Gallery is now open throughout the Summer at weekends from 12 - 5 displaying local artist’s work including ‘Aye Glass’ fused glasswork, ‘Celtic Shore’ sea worn glass & silver jewellery, paintings, prints & cards from local artists.
Barr’s community store offer refreshments, ice creams and light snacks with excellent homemade pizzas available on Saturdays by placing an advance order. The Kings Arms, al so has a tasty lunch menu, as well as lovely locally roasted coffee & home baking after 12. Delicious evening meals and real ales in good company in a warm friendly atmosphere make the Barr a destination of choice.
