Beekeeper’s taste of show success

Veteran Girvan beekeeper, Jim McColm was once again successful at last week’s Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.

Jim entered his honey exhibits in six catergories and was delighted to come way with two first, two seconds and two thirds. Jim, of Girvan’s North Drive, is a member of Western Galloway Beekeepers Association and keeps his hives at Newtown Stewart. His winning exhibits were;

Class 1, Two Jars of light-1st; Class 2, Two Jars of Medium (Excluding Ling Heather) - 2nd; Class 5, Two Jars Natrually Crystalised Blossom - 2nd; Class 9, Six Jars (of one, two or three different kinds) 3rd; Class 11, Frame of Blossom Suitable for Extraction - 1st; Class 15, Two Jars of Chunk - 3rd.
