Carrick Community Leisure Group is the charity set up and operating from The Speakers, formerly the Carrick Sports Club.

The charity aims to provide space for daytime activities and, though not exclusively for the over 50s, is working with Maybole Over 50s, formerly Maybole OIR, carers groups, social workers and other service providers as well as providing facilities and assistance to other groups and individuals to further their activities and help keep people engaged in their communities.

Mark Fletcher, chairman of the charity said, “We are so pleased to announce that we have been chosen by the Big Lottery for the funding of two existing temporary posts and two new part-time posts for 3 years to a total grant value of £129,855. This will allow us to develop the range of things we can offer and help to create a much more sustainable model whilst creating new employment opportunities as well.”

Anyone interested in one of the two new part time positions will be able to find details on our face book page The Speakers, on our web site or by calling 01655 718080.
