Parents are being asked to pick up their children early from Girvan Primary and Nursery schools today (Friday, February 19).
Girvan Primary and Nursery Schools have been experiencing a variety of water and heating problems this week.
A number of bursts have now been discovered in the main water supply to the school which is affecting the hot water and the toilets.
The water will need to be switched off to both schools to allow the repairs to be made and therefore the schools will close at 12.15pm today and parents are being asked to pick up their children at that time.
Arrangements have been made for the workmen to work the weekend if necessary so that the school can return as normal on Monday.
The children will be given an early lunch before they leave today and any children who cannot go home will remain in school.
