Business tourism on the up

Tourism agents from across the United Kingdom saw first hand what Carrick has to offer.

The strength of Ayrshire tourism businesses and meeting facilities was being showcased to a group of UK Business Tourism Agents over the weekend.

A familiarisation trip, hosted by VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit, saw seven of the UK’s top meetings and conference organisers visit Ayrshire, highlighting what’s ‘New in Ayrshire & Arran’ in particular the range of unique and purpose-built venues for holding meetings and conferences.

Following a visit to Turnberry Resort, the group experienced Culzean Castle, owned by the National Trust for Scotland as well as a trip to A.D.Rattray Whisky Experience and Whisky Shop at Kirkoswald.

Neil Brownlee, Head of Business Tourism said: “It is imperative that we continue to highlight the breadth of quality on offer for conference and incentive planners when coming to Ayrshire.”
