Ayrshire Hospice is offering shoppers a whole new experience this coming weekend - to buy by the kilo.

Their hospice warehouse will be opened up on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15 and shoppers invited to fill the clear plastic bags provided then pay by weight at the till point. There’s no minimum spend and shoppers will be charged £5 per kilo.

There will be ladies, mens and children’s clothes, accessories including jewellery, shoes, belts and handbags, plus a bric a brac section with unusual knick-knacks and collectable bargains.

Claire Stuart-Paulin, senior fundraising officer said: “Everyone loves a bargain and we know there are many shoppers out there that love to rummage so this is the perfect event for them.

“We are very fortunate to have such a generous and charitable community who donate to our shops regularly and it means we’ve found ourselves in a position where we are able to hold such a fun, unique event where everyone can grab a bargain.

“Stock will be replenished throughout the weekend so there’s bargains to be had from 10am on Saturday right through till we close at 4pm on Sunday.”

A £3 Early Bird ticket which allows entry from 10-11am needs to be purchased online at www.ayrshirehospice.org. General admission is £2 after 11am, and there is plenty of parking at the Auchengate warehouse (white building off the A78 at Irvine, KA11 5AX).
