Jeane Freeman MSP has welcomed awards to the Zone in Dalmellington and to Carrick Rugby of funding seized from criminals as part of the Scottish Government’s innovative Cashback for Communities scheme.
The Zone in Dalmellington is a multifunctional project delivering dynamic childcare, youth training and employment services to the East Ayrshire community. It will receive £100,000.
Carrick Rugby is an ambitious rugby club based in the Maybole/Girvan area that integrates school, junior and senior rugby. It will receive £30,000.
Jeane Freeman said: “Cashback for Communities is a unique programme that seizes money from criminals and reinvests it back into communities. I’m delighted that two projects in Carrick have benefited. This is a valuable investment in young people.”
