Employers in South Ayrshire are being encouraged to hire modern apprentices to develop their workforce.
The call comes ahead of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2016 from February 29 to March 4.
Organised by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), the campaign highlights the commitment of businesses that have decided to invest in the skills of their employees.
It also showcases the successes of apprentices who have chosen to get a job, get paid and become qualified to develop their careers.
Last year there were 472 new modern apprenticeships in South Ayrshire.
Val Russell, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive, said: “There are more than 80 different types of modern apprenticeship available and more than 25,000 new starts each year.
“The newly formed Developing Young Workforce Ayrshire Regional Group makes it easier than ever for employers to get support from a range of partners to employ young people and access training support for them.”
Employers can post vacancies for free on – www.apprenticeships.scot – so there’s never been a better time to take on a Modern Apprentice.
