Youth crime is falling say police

YOUTH crime figures in South Ayrshire are falling, a police report issued last week has revealed.

The figures were welcomed by local MSP Adam Ingram who believes a more visible police force on the streets and tackling underage drinking have resulted in the drop.

The annual Scottish Policing Performance Framework report shows the number of recorded crimes committed by children and young people has fallen by almost 19 per cent.

The number of complaints against police decreased by 388 to 4,310 – down 8.3% from the previous year.
