It’s curtain up for Girvan Musical Society this week as the group starts a five-night run of Acorn Antiques The Musical.

The show runs from March 11 until March 15 with curtain up at 7:30pm in Girvan Academy Theatre.

As you can see from our photographs of the dress rehearsals the show looks a cracker and is sure to be a sell-out.

Acorn Antiques is a musical comedy with dance and revolves around a plot that pitches antique dealers and their shopkeeping neighbours against property developers set on revamping the traditional high street in the fictional town of Manchesterford.

Sometimes a bit ‘Crossroads’, sometimes a bit rude, great one-liners, catchy tunes and tap dancing! What more do you need?

The society, now in its 17th year, has performed shows ranging from The Pirates of Penzance to last year’s production of Curtains and has received much acclaim.
