Thousands of visitors attended the Forces in the Field military event at Culzean Castle last the weekend.
Returning for its eighth year the event showcased historical and modern day military equipment and a variety of re-enactments to give visitors a flavour of how things have developed.
Visitors enjoyed climbing inside the cockpit of a plane, watching soldiers from a by-gone era march into battle and discovered what the Vikings ate in camp.
On display were weapons and vehicles, plus re-enactments of a gas attack, cooking for the company and surviving in the trenches. The story behind the forces from flintlock pistols to the present day was told, and with remote control tanks, an aircraft cockpit display, 1940s hairdresser, Legion and charity stalls it was a jam packed weekend with something for everyone.
