DANCERS from Girvan have stepped up their game to raise thousands for charity.

The Girvan girls performed for family and friends at Dansarena Studios in Ayr – of which the classes they attend are a subsidiary – and raised £2,113 for cancer charity CLIC Sargeant.

Dansarena Principal Karen Mitchell said she was delighted at the improvement in the pupils from the Girvan school – which is approaching only its fourth year – who performed with poise and confidence.

The girls attend classes in the South Parish Church Hall on Girvan’ Henrietta Street every Saturday, where classes are available in the R.A.D. ballet syllabus and freestyle jazz and tap, as well as hip hop for ten-to15-year-olds.

Melody Movement and Baby Boogie are also on offer for children from age 3.
