Girvan gearing up for civic week

THE TEAM behind this year’s Girvan Civic Week parade are calling on Harry Potter to weave a spell for some sunny weather to make sure there’s a big turnout for the town’s 2011 spectacular.

The theme this year is of course Harry Potter and the organisers are calling for the town’s wizards, witches, Hagrids, Hermiones and Malfoys to take part on Sunday (June 26).

The crowning of the Gala King and Queen will take place at 1.45pm at the Gig on the Green and the fun will continue with the parade and family entertainment. For more information call 01465 714616.
