A 31 year-old Girvan man has been charged with assault to severe injury following an incident in the town in the early hours of Monday.
Darren Robert Stewart, from Girvan, is charged with assault to severe injury and danger of life following the incident at Bridge Street, Girvan on Monday, August 3 in which a 23 year-old man was assaulted.
A Crown Office spokesman said: “The Procurator Fiscal received a report in relation to an incident involving four men said to have occurred on 3 August, 2015.
“A 31 year-old appeared in court, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear for further examination at a later date.
“Three others, two 22 year-olds and a 27 year-old, did not appear in court and were liberated.
“The report remains under consideration by the Procurator Fiscal.”
The case is due to call again at Ayr Sheriff Court on August 12 this year.
