A former favourite Girvan nightclub hotspot is set to make a comeback this weekend and you can be there courtesy of The Carrick Gazette.

Flix, situated in the town’s Bridge Street is set to re-open its doors on Friday Night (August 1) after a long absence with a VIP night.

And The Carrick Gazette has teamed up with Flix to offer you six VIP tickets and keyrings to the night on Friday which will begin at 9pm and last until 2.30am.

All you need to do is give the correct answer to the following question.

In what year did Flix first open in Girvan?

And with the VIP night only two days away you have got to be quick with your answer.

Simply pop in to the Carrick Gazette office, 32 Dalrymple Street, Girvan and if you give the correct answer then you will be rewarded with one of the six VIP tickets and keyrings on a first come first served basis.

And Flix: The Next Generation as it is now being rebranded will re-open fully the night after on Saturday August 2 from 10pm-2.30am.

Flix: The Next Generation is now under the licencee of John Stewart, who also runs the town’s Victory Bar.

Owner Forbes Robertson is still playing a key part in the operation though and will be keeping a close eye on things.

For those familiar with the memorabilia, all the old favourites are still there for you to admire along with some new additions including ET: The Extra Terrestrial, who is shown in the picture alongside John and Forbes.

The venue will be strictly over 18s only with entry costing £3 to get in on Saturday nights.
