The second Kirkmichael Gala will be held on May 28 – and what a day is planned.
It will have the usual great selection of stalls, the gala parade and Maybole Pipe Band.
But that is just the start.
There will be a great new selection of entertainment for children this year, with the unlimited £10 all day wrist band again this year making it an affordable day out for the youngsters.
The Carrick Capers games will include The Blind Folded Barra Race, Tattie Tossing and Tyre Tugging, but its headline event is the The Wife Carrying Race . We are sure this is a first in Scotland. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for application forms and details, but be quick as there are a limited number of spaces.
The second annual Kirkmichael 10K Race will also take place the same day. It is a permit approved race and you can enter at www.entrycentral.com.
From 4pm the evening’s entertainment will start in the main marquee on the park, with the Battle of the Bands. This event will have a family friendly area as well as an over-18 area serving alcohol. Battle of the Bands will be free admission with a pay- what- you-feel donation towards the gala funds. The competition is open to Ayrshire based bands with members between the ages of 14 and 25 with £250 prize for the winner plus recording time and a live gig in the Carrick Speakers Club. Email email@example.com for applications forms.
