Housing is at the top of the national agenda in Scotland and now a series of events means the public can have their say.
South Ayrshire Council is asking the public what they think about housing with a view to updating its Local Housing Strategy.
Getting public opinion at this stage is vital as the strategy will direct the council’s housing policy for the next five years.
The strategy influences all types of housing including council housing, private lets, owner-occupied and housing association properties. Views gathered could also influence council partners such as housing associations and private sector builders.
Councillor Philip Saxton, Housing & Customer Services Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said:” We are committed to ensuring people are able to access good quality, affordable housing across South Ayrshire. In order to achieve this we need to know the housing issues that affect people, what we are doing well and what we can improve upon. I would encourage everyone to get involved and influence our housing policies for the better”
The Local Housing Strategy online survey can be found at www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/consultations. Please complete the online survey by Friday 29 January 2016.
There is also the opportunity to have a say and get more information by coming along to one of the drop-in sessions. Everyone is welcome, just drop in anytime between the start and end of the session.
