Here to help students

Pupils in South Ayrshire who are stressed about their upcoming exam results will be able to gain expert advice.

That’s because Skills Development Scotland have once again set up a free helpline to students offering guidance on what their exam results mean for them.

The service opens on Tuesday August 6 at 8am- the day youngsters in South Ayrshire will receive their exam results.

Skills Development Scotland Head of Carrer Management Skills David Cameron said: “Young people may have done better than anticipated or not as well as expected, but the main thing is that they and their parents shouldn’t panic. There will always be options to consider. The first step is to call the helpline and discuss what the best options might be.”

He added: “The helpline is there to assist in finding the best next step for them on their career journey and we have a very wide range of services to do exactly that.”

Youngsters can also get help via SDS’s Facebook page which has answers to a range of problems.

The service is open from 8am until 8pm on August 6 and August 7 and then is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays until August 14 and from 10am to 6pm at weekends.
