There have been a few meetings of the Rotary Club of Girvan since our last entry.

There was a meeting with Julie Campbell and Jim from community resource. The meeting heard that there is an extensive range of volunteers involved: groups with various disabilities have had some training and had some exposure to involvement in shared gardening projects.

All are welcome to play a part. At last week’s meeting Ron Gibson gave an illustrated account of a journey up the Yangtze river and on to Beijing . He told much about the history and the development of the parts of China they visited.

On Tuesday 29 April there was the annual general meeting. John Barr is to become chairman, Eric MacKinnon deputy chairman. The chairmen as they leave the post choose a charity to make a gift to. Andrew Ballantine announced that the community garden is to receive £200.
