Some brave men are to go through the pain of having their legs waxed in order to raise money for the Girvan swimming pool.

South Carrick Community Leisure chairman Andrew Sinclair, Gazette reporter Ewan McQueen, Richard Conaghan and John Rennie among others will be getting their legs waxed in the Carrick Gazette office on Saturday 24 May at 1pm.

Donation forms are available at the Gazette Office, Webale in Hamilton Street, Billy Leith’s bakers, the Sweetie Shop, Dunlop’s newsagents, Shake Fit, Monty’s, Marco’s Barbers, Douneburn Stores, Lucas Financial Services and Ailsa Horizons.

All the money raised will then be collected after the legwax and will go towards hitting the £1m community fundraising target for the new leisure facility.

All donations will be hugely appreciated as the efforts continue to get Girvan a new pool.
