The Carrick Centre in Maybole has a new chairman as of this week.
At a meeting on Tuesday July 16, outgoing chairman Hugh Paterson handed over the reigns to Peter Lynn, whilst Ellen Hawkes was appointed vice-chair.
Hugh thanked the Board for all their support over the year and gave best wishes to Peter and Ellen for the future. The board in turn thanked Hugh for his efforts and were pleased to hear that he would remain on the board for the forseeable future.
Hugh said: ““The past twelve months have been very exciting and tremendous progress has been made in our first full year of operating.”
New Chairman Peter Lynn commented: “The challenge now is to continue to grow whilst acting as a hub for the community and the wide range of groups and activities that take place at present.
“The Carrick Centre will continue to support new enterprises and services where it can and to assist existing user groups. The café has seen considerable growth and will continue to expand its operations according to demand, and a monthly car boot sale will start on the first Saturday in August.”
