A group of 14 young unemployed people from Ayrshire have graduated from Diageo’s ‘Learning for Life’ training programme and are now ready to embark on careers in the hospitality industry.

The Diageo Learning for Life: Hospitality and Bartending programme provided by training partner Ayrshire College - provided the students with coaching, core employability skills and specialist bartender training, plus seven industry recognised qualifications, which opens the door to a wide range of hospitality career opportunities in Scotland.

After completing the six-week training course the students celebrated at a special ceremony held at Ayrshire College last week.

Their graduation marks the 15th Diageo Learning for Life programme to have taken place in association with Ayrshire College since November 2014.

As part of their training, the students undertook two weeks of work experience with some of Ayrshire’s leading restaurants, hotels and bars, visited Corney & Barrow Wine Cellar, and attended a cocktail masterclass and lunch at 7 Saints Bar & Burger Kitchen.
