Do you know someone working in the NHS who has gone the extra mile to help you?
It could be someone who works in a hospital ward or behind a desk; it could be a clinician or a volunteer.
Now local people – and other NHS staff - have the chance to recognise the contribution of health workers and volunteers through the Ayrshire Achieves 2015 awards scheme.
Ayrshire Achieves, funded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Charity Fund, is a staff recognition scheme which applauds excellence and innovation, demonstrates continuous improvement in the quality of care and celebrates exceptional achievements during the year.
John Burns, Chief Executive – NHS Ayrshire & Arran, explains: “Last year’s award scheme was a great success, with 46 nominations across the eight categories.
“Following on from this, we are now welcoming nominations for Ayrshire Achieves 2015.
“We want to hear about the many wonderful people, projects and plans that recognise the purpose, values and commitments of our organisation.”
Members of the public, employees of NHS Ayrshire & Arran and partner organisations can all nominate an individual or team employed by NHS Ayrshire & Arran for an award. You can also nominate a volunteer, voluntary group or charity for the volunteer’s award.
Mr Burns adds: “Every day we hear of examples of our dedicated staff going the extra mile.
“They don’t do this in anticipation of awards, but because they are committed to providing safe, high quality care.
“This is an opportunity, however, for their colleagues and members of the public to say, ‘We noticed!’
“So if you know of someone who deserves to be recognised, we would be delighted to hear from you.”
