Every five years Maybole Community Council runs the Scrolls of Appreciation award scheme.
The awards see the people of Maybole nominate people in the community to receive a scroll in recognition for the good work they do.
The award will be presented to anyone who is nominated by any group or individual thought to have served their community in some way.
This event has been co-ordinated by Maybole Community Council for the past 15 years and in that time over 100 people have had the honour of being presented with a scroll of appreciation for the good work they have done in the town.
Nominees must have brought some honour to the town through any organisation or something they have done on a volunteer basis and they must have done outstanding work for the organisation they represent and have taken an active part in ensuring they have promoted the organisation they represent.
Any member of the public can put forward someone’s name and can nominate any number of names they feel deserve some recognition for the hard work the person has put in. Organisations nominating someone should have the forms signed by two office bearers,
Nominations must have the person’s name, address and details of why the person should be receiving this prestigious award.
The presentation will be held in Maybole Town Hall on Tuesday, May 5 at 7pm and those receiving scrolls will be invited to bring their family and friends to the ceremony.
Nominations should be placed in an envelope and returned to the Town Hall by Monday March 16.
