Sandra Osborne MP is standing up for drivers in Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock who could be losing out on savings of almost £2m a year on their car insurance due to unfair practices by insurers.

Research by Money Supermarket highlights the poor practices by insurers including not making it clear that auto-renewal is agreed to when first buying a policy.

Sandra Osborne MP said: “It’s unacceptable that drivers in Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock are losing out on £1,921,692 because of unclear and unfair practices by the car insurance industry. “Insurers must start being much clearer with their customers about auto-renewals, to put drivers back in control of their insurance. People shouldn’t have payments automatically taken from their accounts unless they have given their explicit consent and know how to stop them.”
